Swiss airline powdair launches flights between Sion and the UK

Powdair has announced its new operating routes from Sion in the Valais region of Switzerland, to eight international airports in the UK, Belgium and Germany.

The airline, that commences flights from December 14, 2017, will significantly cut transfer times to some of Switzerland’s most popular ski resorts for winter sports enthusiasts with prices averaging at around £140 each way including ski carriage.

The eight airports that will be served by Powdair are –  London Luton, London Southend, Southampton, Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh as well as Deurne (Antwerp) and Hamburg.

Head of Marketing and Customer Experience, Zoë Ombler, said: “Following a period of consultation between our management team and by popular demand from our market research, we have now finalised the airports that Powdair will serve during the winter season starting in December 2017.

“We strongly believe that these airports are best placed to help skiers and snowboarders reach some of the best resorts in the Alps that have been traditionally harder to get to.

“It’s an exciting time for us and for anyone wishing to travel to the Valais region faster and more efficiently this winter and beyond.”

Online ticket sales will be available soon.
